Outcrop of Carboniferous pillow basalts in the western Acatlán complex, approximately 10 km to the west of Olinalá, Guerrero, Mexico. These tholeiitic, N-MORB-type basalts are interbedded with quartzite and phyllite within the El Naranjo block and belong to the Progreso Unit, which underwent greenschist facies metamorphism and polyphase deformation during the Carboniferous and Permian.
